Sandhyathan - My Original Composition Feat. Vinod Venugopal, Urmila Varma, Rahul Soman & Eshwar

Hi Friends… :)

This is a song which I composed 2 years back. This is one of my personal favorites amongst the songs I have composed.

The most interesting aspect about this song is the manner in which the lyrics was written. It all happened over a small conversation between me and Rahul. The lyrics of this song were written in a matter of 15 minutes by Rahul amidst the usual chit chat with me. What amazes me is the thought of how could somebody write something as good as this amidst all the distraction from the person sitting beside you! And believe it or not the lyrics was perfect to the meter of the composition! Hats off to this guy! Thanks so much bro! :)

Then came Eshwar, who changed the face of the song with his beautiful background score! Loved it man! Owe you one too! :)

It was a wonderful experience working with Urmila Varma on this song. She is such a fabulous singer and I feel privileged to have been able to have part of this song. Thank you so much chechi! Means a world to all of us!

Now coming to the singing, it was a touch choice as to who would sing this one. That was when we thought of requesting Vinod Venugopal to sing this one for us. For all you folks who do not know Vinodettan, he is the brother of renowned playback singer Sujatha. It was indeed a pleasure to have got a chance to work with Vinodettan. He has done a fantastic job in this one! Am sure you would all agree with me.

A special thanks to our dear friend Deepesh, for all the moral support and for the help with the mix.. Owe you one too bro.. :)

So here you go, presenting before you the song which I have been longing to release... Sandhyathan... Hope you all would like it..

NANATI BADUKU - ORIGINAL FUSION

Hi Friends… :)

This is a very special Krithi written and composed by the great Sri Annamacharya… This song is all about life… It speaks about life being a drama and we being the actors on the scene. But whatever we say or do in life, at the end of it all, time reminds us of the ultimate goal, liberation to reach god… Such a wonderful concept, written by the messenger of God himself, Sri Annamacharya.

This song has been composed in one of my favorite raagams, Revathi… Such a beautiful raagam this. To add more life to the already beautiful song, Guru has done a Brillaint job with his background score. To top it all, superb mixing by our very own Babuettan at his Studio Mysterious Sounds Digital.

So here we go with our humble attempt at this great krithi. I dedicate this song to the great singer Smt. M.S. Subbulakshmi who is very famous for singing this Krithi and by far the best singer of this song. Though we have deviated from the actual rules, I hope we have done our best to retain the divinity of the song…

Hope you all like this.

Original Fusion - Shrungapuradheeshwari Sharadhe

Hi Friends… :)

Here I am back with an original fusion work of mine with my dear friend Guru Praveen, who is currently working as an assistant Music Director in the Kannada Film Industry, currently working with Music Director Sri Ganesh…

Praveen has been a good friend of mine for 7 years now… He is an amazing composer and musician… This is a superb piece of work by him… He wanted me to do this fusion in a different manner… Wanted me to give this a soft touch, with classical sangathis sung in a light manner… This was a great experience for me, as it has been ages since I have sung Carnatic Classical… It was a great experience doing this once again!

I must once again thank our dear Babuettan for this wonderful mix… Now there is also something special about this mix… This has been done at his newly setup studio! This song marks the inauguration of his studio… For more details on this please refer his page.

Hope you all like this humble effort of ours…

Ninavil Thedumaare... My Composition

Hi Friends…. :)

This is a song I composed after a very long time.. :) Felt really good inside, when I finished composing this one.. Approached Eshwar Ravishankar for the orchestration and he was more than happy to work on this with me! Thanks so much bro!

When my dear friend Rahul Soman heard the tune, he instantly agreed to write the lyrics.. Once this was done, I felt it needed to be sung really well, in order to be able to actually communicate the feel of the song to the listener. Could not think of a better singer than my dear friend Unnikrishnan KB... He has rended this one really well!!

Engeyum Kaadhal.... Song about Love...

Hi Friends…. :)

This is a song I fell in love with as soon as I watched it in the theatre…. This is such a lovely song and has a very special feel… Its all about LOVE, LOVE and only LOVE!!!

The track of this song is not a good one… It is a vocal cut with a good presence of the original voice… Hope I have done my best to mix to avoid the original voice where it really mattered…

I have nothing much to say this time… Hope you all like my humble effort… Please feel free to leave your feedback about my attempt.

Pogaadhe Pogaadhe...

Hi Friends…. :)

I first of all would like to take this opportunity to dedicate this song to all my dear friends, who have been requestg me to sing a Tamil song… So here I am finally…. :)

This is a lovely song from the movie Deepavali…. A very beautiful composition by Yuvan Shankar Raja…. I fell in love this tune the moment I heard the song when watchg the tune…

However, I felt tht the song definitely deserved a better singer than YSR himself, as I am sure this would have been a big hit had he not sung this song… Not sure how this song was accepted by the people… Sorry if my words happen to hurt any of you die hard YSR fan… I am a fan of his music too… This is just a disclaimer… :)

You can listen to the original version of this song here,

http://www.esnips.com/doc/1140f6ab-ae3e-4a73-bb6a-3e5ed4b28432/Tamilmp3world%5B1%5D.Com—-Pogadhe

So I decided to this song in my own style… I have sung it just like how I would have sung it if I were the original singer, with my own variations… So in short I have treated this as an original tht was given to me… Hope you all like my humble effort… :)

Thuli Thuli - From Paiyaa

Hi Friends,

Am sure this song needs no formal introduction… :D A well known song and am sure a favorite of almost all… Such is the magic of this song…

This is not a song for my kind of voice to be honest… But I am just trying it out of sheer love for this song… I mainly tried this song, as it is a learning experience in many aspects… One is the voice modulation… I have tried to modulate my voice, in order to suit the mood of the song… Hope I have been able to do it pretty decently… :)

Second thing is the use of the head voice… When singing the higher notes, we need to try using the falsetto… Need to use the head voice for this… I have practiced and tried this… However, I am not too sure how sucessful I have been… Please listen to this and let me know… I had to record this higher notes seperately owing to the issues with my voice… Rest of the song has been recorded at a stretch… :)

Oru Poomaram - Malayalam Self Composition

Hi...

This was my maiden venture into composing... Always loved to sing soft soothing songs, may it be film songs or original compositions..

This song was written by my friend Sindhu Nair, whom I met on Orkut.. She writes lovely poems, with a nostalgic touch.. I loved this poem of hers as soon as I read it on the "Malayalam Kavidhakal" community in Orkut.. Was craving to get this poem composed as a song..

Song: Oru Poomaram...
Genre: Soul
Music: Prathap Sounderraj
Singer: Sushanth Shankar
Lyrics: Sindhu Nair
Studio: Deepam Studios

This is when I met my friend Prathap who was my senior at the BMS College of Engg and was also the lead of the Indian Music Team at college.. I met Prathap after about 4 years and was thrilled to know that he could make the arrangements to work on this song and get it recorded!!! Prathap is a wonderful multi-talented musician, who plays the keyboard, guitar, mouth organ and what not!! Finally, both of us met up one Saturday afternoon and worked on composing this song..

Trust me, with the help of his easy flowing soothing chords, we had no difficulty in coming up with the tune of the song! Ideas just kept flowing like river water! To say the least, the song was complete in a matter of 2 hours!!! :)

Prathap.. I have always admired him as a wonderful musician and also a very sweet person at heart! Enjoyed working with him on this song!!

Here, I present you the outcome of the combined effort of the 3 of us! This is a short video clip I made using some of the pictures I clicked on my mobile phone! Apologies for the lack of clarity of the images.. Hope you all like it..

Hi Friends,

Here I present before you an all time favourite of mine! This song is from the movie "Manichitrathaazhu", a Mohanlal starrer.. This was a blockbuster back in the 90's. This movie went on to be re-made in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and also in Hindi. However, many who have watched the original still liked the original version of the movie.

This movie had some wonderful songs, scored by the great composer Sri M.G. Radhakrishnan and the lyrics penned by Sri Bichu Thirumala.. These songs are still remembered & cherished by most of the people.
